is my idea good enough?
5 Signs You're Sitting on a Book-Worthy Concept
So, you’ve got an idea. Maybe it hit you in the middle of the night, or maybe it’s been quietly following you for years. Either way, a question starts to echo in your mind: Is this even worth writing a book about?
You’re not alone. Every author – no matter how seasoned – starts here. The good news? There are clear signs that your idea might be stronger (and more needed) than you think.
Here are five signs your idea is worth pursuing:
1. It Keeps Coming Back
If you’ve tried to brush it off but the idea keeps resurfacing – while you’re driving, praying, or talking with a friendit- ’s probably more than a passing thought. Persistent ideas often point to purpose.
2. It Solves a Problem or Speaks to a Felt Need
Is your idea answering a question people are already asking? Whether it’s how to heal, how to grow, or how to navigate something hard, ideas that help, heal, or inspire tend to resonate.
3. It Stirs Something in You
You light up when you talk about it. You get goosebumps when you think about the difference it could make. Passion is a strong indicator that this isn’t just an idea – it’s your idea.
4. It Has Layers
Good book ideas have depth. If you keep uncovering new angles, stories, or applications, that’s a sign you’ve got enough material for more than just a blog post.
5. Others Keep Asking About It
When friends, colleagues, or your community are already asking for your insight on this topic, pay attention. There may be a natural audience waiting for what you have to share.
