Join BTMP’s 30-Day Write Your Book Challenge

Have you been thinking about writing a book but haven’t quite gotten started? Maybe the idea has been sitting with you for months or even years. Maybe you have notes scattered across notebooks, a few chapters saved on your computer, or a manuscript you started and quietly set aside.

September may be a good time to return to it.

Because There’s More Publishing is hosting a free 30-Day Write Your Book Challenge from September 1–30, 2026, designed to help aspiring and emerging authors take one meaningful step each day toward developing and writing their book.

The goal is not to pressure you into completing an entire manuscript in 30 days. Every writer begins in a different place, and every book develops differently. Instead, the challenge is about helping you move forward with greater clarity, consistency, and confidence.

You may finish the month with several new chapters. You may finally develop a workable outline. You may establish a writing routine that helps you continue long after September ends. Or you may simply gain a clearer understanding of the book you want to write and what it will take to finish it.

All of that is progress.

One Step at a Time

Throughout the month, BTMP will share one simple challenge each day across our social media platforms and through periodic email check-ins.

We’ll begin by helping you get clear about the heart of your book—what you want to write, why you want to write it, who you are writing for, and what you hope your reader will take away.

From there, we’ll move into developing the structure of your book, identifying possible chapters and themes, and beginning the actual writing process.

Later in the challenge, we’ll focus on building momentum, working through places where you may feel stuck, protecting your authentic writing voice, and developing a realistic plan for finishing your manuscript.

We’ll also spend time looking ahead.

Because writing the manuscript is one part of the journey. Eventually, there comes a point when a writer begins asking a different set of questions: What happens after the manuscript is finished? What kind of editing do I need? How does publishing work? How do books get distributed? What should I know before approaching a publisher?

You do not need to have all of those answers now.

For these 30 days, your primary job is to keep moving your book forward.

This Is Your Writing Journey

One of the most important things we want participants to remember throughout this challenge is that there is no single “right” way to write a book.

Some writers outline everything before they begin. Others discover the book as they write. Some people can write every morning. Others may only have a few evenings each week. Some participants may begin September with nothing more than an idea. Others may already have half of the manuscript written. You do not have to compare your progress with anyone else’s.

The question we hope you will keep asking is simply:

Am I moving my book forward?

If the answer is yes, keep going.

Track Your Progress Along the Way

To help you stay encouraged and see just how much you accomplish during the month, we created a free 30-Day Write Your Book Challenge Tracker.

The one-page fillable PDF gives you a simple place to track each day of the challenge as you complete it.

Use it on your computer or device as a fillable PDF, or print a copy and keep it near your writing space. Checking off each day may seem like a small thing, but by the end of September, you’ll be able to look back and see 30 individual decisions to keep showing up for your book.

When You’re Ready for the Next Part of the Journey

At Because There’s More Publishing, we believe authors need more than a company that simply produces books. Writers need information. They need encouragement. They need to understand the publishing process. And when the time comes to turn a manuscript into a professionally published book, they should have access to people who will respect both their work and the reason they wrote it. That is part of the heart behind this challenge.

We are not asking you to worry about publishing while you are still trying to write. Right now, write the book. Develop the idea. Find your voice. Work through the difficult chapter. Add another page. Return tomorrow and add another.

And when your manuscript reaches the point where you are ready to begin talking about editing, book design, production, distribution, and publishing, Because There’s More Publishing will be here as a resource.

Ready to Begin?

The 30-Day Write Your Book Challenge began September 1, but you can still join us and work through the challenges at your own pace. Bring your book idea, your notebook or laptop, and a willingness to give your story a little attention each day.

You do not have to know everything before you begin. You simply have to begin.
